What is Carbon Positive? By calculating how much energy we consume using our servers, we are able to estimate how much carbon we are emitting into the atmosphere. We purchase offsets of wind power to "neutralize" the amount of carbon we produce directly from a wind farm.

We go two steps further. First, we purchase extra credits offsets on our hosting clients behalf, so you are not just carbon "neutral" you are carbon positive! Second, we will plant a five year old tree in your honor after you have hosted with us for one year on a 75 acre piece of land in northern Illinois that is currently being converted from farmland to natural forest.

ABOUT THE TREE PLANTING
By planting a more mature tree, we can ensure its survival will be greater than a less expensive tree that has a much smaller chance of survival if planted too soon. We also are offering "shared" trees if you want to join with other clients to purchase older trees such as blue spruces, maples and oaks. We take our tree planting seriously!
